After 6 months of shredding paper and applying for "real jobs" left and right...I had finally landed an amazing job.
It was a full-time desk job for a huge consulting company here in the Baltimore, MD area. I had benefits, a 401k, paid vacation, and a huge salary (for a college kid).
I was so excited. It didn't even matter that I had absolutely no idea what I'd be doing all day long...I knew I would figure it out.
But the excitement didn't last long.
8 weeks to be exact. And I remember the day...
It was July 10th, 2009...and I was sitting at work...almost falling asleep of boredom...looking around at the near-retirement aged guy sitting behind me.
And then it hit me.
If I don't do something with my life, I'm going to end up exactly like this guy.
I'll be 64 years old, giving up 10+ hours of every single day of my life to some company I could care less about.
I will have lost time with my wife, my kids, and my friends and family.
And what scared me the most was the thought of feeling like I will have wasted my life without making an impact. Without living life the way I wanted to live it.
So the search began.
I fired up Google and started looking for ideas.
"How to make money online"
"How to start a business online"
"Easy ways to make money from home"
I spent hours in front of that computer. Then I went home and kept searching. Kept reading. Kept learning everything I could.
I found so many different strategies, ideas, and concepts...it was pretty overwhelming.
I bought a couple training courses that promised to teach me exactly how to start making money online by creating my own products to tell...and I was off to the races.
I spent the next few months learning everything I could about blogging, building websites, getting people to my site, creating products to sell them, and the list goes on and on.
(here's the first blog I ever created...a blog all about my biggest passion, the sport of baseball)
